A ruin perched on the ridge of a hill in the Marche region. This is the first image of the project site.
The hills are the same ones portrayed in “Terre scritte”, the photographic series by Mario Giacomelli that captures the landscape of Marche region.
Here, the landscape reveals abstract traces and furrows, while from the rural architectures emerge types, forms, and construction techniques that express the ingenuity of an architecture without architects.
The language proposed for this new intervention resonates with that of the traditional rural house of the Marche — both in its plan layout and in the proportion between solid and void.
Inside, a double-height space hosts a dialogue among three elements: the staircase, the window opening onto the hilly landscape, and the fireplace.
