Nido

Model measures and material: L90 x W50 x H50 mm, milky white resin

Object measures and material: L300 x W150 x150 mm, linden wood

Status: prototype

The object is a model of an urban nest. The idea came to me when I came across a nest built on the outdoor air conditioning unit.

The interior volume is a room created by subtracting the volume of a sphere. This is where the bird takes shelter and lays its eggs, entering through the small opening between the two blocks. It can perch on the stick and drink from the circular bowl.

In its open version, the two blocks function as nests for birds that prefer an en plain air home, while the stacked blocks are designed for birds that nest in cavities.
